Court Appointed Guardianship Services. Participate in special programs for the disadvantaged and
the elderly. Plan projects and programs geared to prevention of domestic abuse. Assist in completing Personal Protection Orders (PPO's).
Award interest free loans and grants to Jewish students for undergraduate and graduate study. Meet to plan programs on Israel to educate membership. Audiotape Jewish News articles for the visually impaired. Recognize Jewish high school seniors for their achievements and service to the community. Read to class or tutor one-on-one. Help develop & facilitate other literacy programs. Pack and deliver kosher meals to the homebound or provide administrative work. Help recruit and retain members. NCJW/GDS’S younger women’s branch offering opportunities for social events and hands-on community service, all geared toward younger women (55 and under) and their families. Assist with mailings, computer data input, or other clerical work.
Plan social, educational programs for members and non-members. In cooperation with Kadima, NCJW/GDS volunteers provide Sunday brunch and programs with Kadima clients. Plan programs to educate the community regarding issues of concern to NCJW. Assist with marketing NCJW/GDS. Help coordinate annual shoe drive. Help plan events. Trained facilitators present workshops in schools on
awareness of Teen Dating Abuse. Help with oversight committee, marketing, or work in the
stores (e.g. window dressing, special sales). Assist with sending tributes. Create blankets for children removed from their homes and
placed in foster care or institutions.
