adults requiring legal guardianship.
ADVOCACY IN ACTION:
Monitor and advocate for political issues at the local, state, and federal levels.
ARCHIVES:
Gather and organize important NCJW/GDS information.
AWARDS:
Select recipients for NCJW/GDS and community awards.
BOOKSTOCK:
Help sort prior to book sale or help with sales during Bookstock. NCJW earns money for your time.
BULLETIN:
Help edit regularly published bulletins.
BULLYING
AND ABUSE IN TEEN RELATIONSHIPS:
Volunteers call schools to arrange, and trained facilitators present workshops in schools on
awareness of Bullying and Abuse in Teen Relationships.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH:
Participate in special programs for the disadvantaged and
the elderly.
DOMESTIC ABUSE PREVENTION:
Plan projects and programs geared to prevention of domestic abuse. Assist in completing Personal Protection Orders (PPO's).
EDUCATION ASSISTANCE:
Award interest free loans and grants to Jewish students for undergraduate and graduate study.
GROW
(Girls Reaching Outward) TEEN GROUP:
NCJW/GDS'S teen group offering opportunities for community service
and meeting new friends.
ISRAEL AFFAIRS:
Meet to plan programs on Israel to educate membership.
JEWISH YOUTH AWARDS:
Recognize Jewish high school seniors for their achievements and service to the community.
LITERACY
OUTREACH:
Read to class or tutor one-on-one. Help develop & facilitate other literacy programs.
MEALS ON WHEELS:
Pack and deliver kosher meals to the homebound or provide administrative work.
MEMBERSHIP:
Help recruit and retain members.
NEXT GENERATION:
NCJW/GDS'S younger women's branch offering opportunities for social events and hands-on community service, all geared toward younger women (55 and under) and their families.
OFFICE ASSISTANCE:
Assist with mailings, computer data input, or other clerical work.
PROGRAMMING:
Plan social, educational programs for members and non-members.
PROJECT FRIENDSHIP:
In cooperation with Kadima, NCJW/GDS volunteers provide Sunday brunch and programs with Kadima clients.
PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE:
Plan programs to educate the community regarding issues of concern to NCJW.
PUBLIC RELATIONS:
Assist with marketing NCJW/GDS.
