NCJW/GDS will be staffing the Sale on Wednesday, April 21. Help generate
proceeds for our section by volunteering at the sale. It's fun and rewarding!
Different jobs are available to suit different volunteers. Please submit your

Used Book Sale. Bookstock benefits the community by recycling books and provides the community with inexpensive reading pleasure. It also earns funds for literacy programs sponsored by the participating organizations such as NCJW/GDS. Remember to sign in and put "NCJW" down as your organization. "Palmer Park." This play takes place circa 1967 in Detroit as two couples hope to keep a racially integrated neighborhood intact. We will have dinner first (cost on your own)
at Jerusalem Pizza and then see "Palmer Park" at 7:30 pm.

Be a part of something Special! Join us for our kick-off
program and learn more about National Council of Jewish
Women's "Next Generation" and our first project with a
local shelter, Common Ground, founded in 1971 for children in crisis. You will:
- Hear a real-life experience from a former resident
- Be entertained by their traveling young theatre troupe
- Learn how you can be a part of this
rewarding project
For
our first program, "Birthday-in-a-Box," we'd like to ask
you to please bring a birthday gift, appropriate for
children aged 10-17. Price range $10 - $15. (Target
gift cards also appropriate.)

We welcome Susie and Bill Graham. The Grahams tell
the inspiring story of their daughter Alex whose death became the beginning of a
journey. The book is titled "When One Door Closes."

Psychologist Steve Craig will discuss his book "The
Six Husbands Every Woman Should Have." Steve tells all, except for providing us
with the names of the six men! Register by April 19th.

Martin Levin, author of "We Were Relentless: A
Family's Journey to Overcome Disability" will join us. Meet his remarkable son
Jordan, and hear an amazing story of courage and determination. Register by May

and Outreach in Metro Detroit. We will welcome five women of different faiths

Rabbi Bergman ffrom Adat Shalom will join us for a talk
about "Rabbi Nachman and the pursuit of joy," with lunch first at the NCJW/GDS office. RSVP by

U-M Dearborn Professor Sid Bolkosky will talk to us
about how interviewing Holocaust survivors has changed over the years. Abe
Pasternack was one of his first interviewees in 1980. We will have lunch first
