2012 - a new year full of exciting promise and worrisome concerns.
On the plus side, our Section is working hard to bring a new project,
Money Matters, to
fruition that will enable Jewish women and children in our community to have
better concepts of money management. Along with the workshops, NCJW/GDS is
offering the opportunity for Jewish women, 18 years and older, to get a
secured credit card.
Also, very exciting is the launch of our new

for the many years they served as State Public Affairs Chairs for our Section--keeping
our Section apprised of important legislation, locally, nationally and in Israel.
We are proud to
announce that Myrna Edgar received the Hannah G. Solomon Award at our
Installation Luncheon on May 19th.
We are
delighted that Esther Rosenblum was honored at
Installation with the Ann Rubin
Volunteer Award on May 19th.
We are happy to honor Joanne Aronovitz
with this year's Emerging Leader Award for her demonstrated commitment and
leadership potential for the Greater Detroit Section of NCJW.
Barb Berger
and Mike Berger were honored as Kadima's volunteers of the year on May 19th for their steady generous support to the Project Friendship
at Kadima Sunday Brunch program.
We are delighted that Fern Katz
was
recognized on May 15th as one of the "8 over 80" award recipients for her long-standing
contributions to the community.
