A special feature of this year's event is the presentation of The Josephine S. Weiner Award for Community Service*. Three deserving recipients will be honored at the Women of Vision 2011 event. We hope you will join us in celebrating these honors, and congratulating these women.

Volunteer
Toby Arons has been a dedicated volunteer at NCJW for several years. Her significant community service efforts have focused on SPACE and have included: Bereavement Support Groups, Divorce Support Groups, Teen Dating Abuse Awareness, Rainbows and the Grandparents Circle.
Wendy Wagenheim

Community Activist
Wendy is a lifetime activist. She has been an outspoken advocate on issues including public education, affirmative action, reproductive choice, human rights and church/state concerns. She is currently the Managing Consultant of the Reading Works Alliance.
The Jewish Dental Clinic

Clinic Serving the Jewish Community
The Jewish Dental Clinic is a project of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. Opened in August, 2009, the clinic staffed by volunteer dentists, hygienists and assistants provides no cost dental care to Detroit’s low income uninsured Jewish patients.
*What is The Josephine S. Weiner Award for Community Service?
The NCJW Josephine S. Weiner Award honors an individual or organization in the greater Detroit metropolitan area whose work benefits the community, serves as an inspiration to others, and reflects the mission statement of the National Council of Jewish Women, Greater Detroit Section: "The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms."
