A Community Service Project in cooperation with

Provides two nutritious Kosher meals five days a week to those unable to provide for themselves or who have no one to assist them with meal preparation.  Meals are packaged and delivered from the kitchen of  Jewish Apartments and Services by volunteers of the National Council of Jewish Women, Greater Detroit Section.

 If you or someone you know …

 · is temporarily unable to prepare meals following a hospital stay

· handicapped and unable to provide meals for themselves

· homebound without someone in their home to help with meals

· elderly needing assistance in maintaining independence in their home

 ...then Meals on Wheels is the answer.

· Fees are determined by Jewish Family Service on the basis of the client’s and/or family’s ability to pay.  The program is subsidized by National  Council of Jewish Women, Greater Detroit Section, and tax deductible contributions from families and friends. 

· Client evaluation and follow-up are provided by Jewish Family Service.

· Meals are supervised by the Council of Orthodox Rabbis.  

Meals on Wheels is funded through the federal Older Americans Act state and Tobacco funds from the Area Agency on Aging 1-B through the Office of Services to the Aging.
Meals on Wheels  complies with the terms and regulations of the Title V of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as amended in Section 504 of the Social Rehabilitation Act of 1973.  Equal opportunity employer program.  Reasonable accommodation will be provided upon notification or request.
